Community development is people coming together to realize a shared vision for an improved life. This may happen through planting a garden, rehabilitating a house, improving educational opportunities, building new homes, or developing commercial and industrial enterprises. Whatever the means may be, community development is fundamentally about people deciding that their neighborhood is not a place to leave, but a place to be nurtured, a place to be proud of, and a place to call home.
